Slip and Fall

When property is opened to the public so that the public is invited to use the property, the owner or possessor of that property has a duty to make the property reasonably safe. If they fail to fulfill that duty, they may be liable for any injuries caused by a dangerous condition on the property. These cases are often called premises liability or slip and fall cases. Edwards v. K-Mart Corp., Circuit Court of Buchanan County, Missouri: Favorable settlement for a client who slipped and fell at a K-Mart store and suffered a hip fracture which required hip replacement surgery.

Tomlinson v. Hy-Vee, Inc., Circuit Court of Buchanan County, Missouri: Favorable settlement for a client who slipped and fell at a grocery store and eventually underwent fusion surgery in her lumbar spine.

Walts v. Cab-Ward, L.L.C., Circuit Court of Buchanan County, Missouri: Favorable settlement for a client who tripped and fell on a bracket that had been left on the floor of a restaurant bathroom and tore ligaments in his knee which required surgery.

Bumphrey v. A & G Steakhouse, Circuit Court of Buchanan County, Missouri: Favorable settlement for a disabled client who fell in a restaurant bathroom when there was no grab bar for her to hold onto and suffered a hip fracture requiring hip replacement surgery.
